About Phil Froehlich
Phil Froehlich, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, manages the operational success of the company, leads partnership initiatives, and provides oversight on client engagements.
Mr. Froehlich is a seasoned security and risk management professional. He has advised Fortune 500 organizations and government agencies worldwide, along with lecturing extensively, writing on security issues and training hundreds of business, technology, sales, and marketing professionals. He worked on one of the earliest PC security solutions; helped introduce the concept of active system configuration monitoring to minimize vulnerabilities; and led research efforts to apply artificial intelligence to security implementations. He was Editor-in-Chief of “Security & Audit News”, which he developed into a recognized industry forum for technical information and commentary. As a security practitioner in the Insurance and Pharmaceutical industries, he led systems and application security implementation and re-engineering initiatives.
Subsequently, during his tenure as Product and Brand Manager for the dominant mainframe security and audit software, he successfully helped reshape the role of enterprise security solutions to meet the growing demands of internet-based computing. He is a past member and project officer of organizations including OURS, GUIDE, and SHARE, and was a founding Steering Committee member of the NY Metro Cyber Security Conference. He is currently an active member of the US Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force and serves on the Rutgers Cyber Security Advisory Board.
Mr. Froehlich’s leadership was instrumental in growing the FBI InfraGard® partnership for critical infrastructure protection in New York to over 1500 members. He has served as Acting President, Secretary of the Board, Executive Committee (2006-2018) and Chair of the Nominating Committee. Currently he is a Director, member of the Governance Committee, and produces a weekly information sharing program. He is a member of the Legal, Cyber Security, Incident Response, and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) special interest groups (SIGs) and sits on the Northeast Regional EMP SIG Executive Committee. Mr. Froehlich was a co-founder of IGtv, a worldwide broadcast outreach initiative that received national attention with the 2012 InfraGard Community Outreach award. He served on various InfraGard National committees and was an alternate delegate to the InfraGard National Congress. Mr. Froehlich was recognized in 2007 by FBI Director Mueller for Exceptional Service in the Public Interest and in 2018 by the NY Metro Chapter for Exemplary Leadership.
Locally, he serves as a Fusion Liaison Officer for the NJ Regional Operations Intelligence Center and is a founding member of the Security Task Force of a multi-county organization serving over sixty area community institutions. He is an EMS veteran and instructor and was awarded the 2006 Chamber of Commerce Award for his EMS leadership and innovations in the community.
Mr. Froehlich earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Monmouth University and completed graduate work at the New York Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, NY Division.
